Video: Sneak Peek Inside Internet Business Mastery Academy

Internet Business Mastery AcademyAbout a year ago, Scott and I decided we were finally going to start internet businesses. Making that decision was the easy part! We then spent way too much time reading about internet business, scouring the internet, and blog-hopping from one “expert” to another in an effort to figure out exactly what we needed to do and how to do it. The payoff for all that time and effort was that we quickly got ourselves completely overwhelmed and were trying to move forward in about 14 different directions. Information is good. Knowing stuff is good. Sometimes trying to know too much stuff is just counter-productive. We desperately needed a step-by-step “roadmap” from one reliable source that would take us from start to finish without us having to figure it all out ourselves. When our heads stopped spinning, we re-grouped and decided to join Internet Business Mastery Academy. This post is somewhat of a review, but we really want to help you make your own decision about whether or not IBMA is the roadmap you need to get yourself  started (or unstuck) and to start making money online. The best way I know of to do that is to give you a peek behind the scenes. I’ll do that with the video below.

The other reason we wanted to give you this “behind the scenes” look is that the pricing structure for IBMA membership will be changing soon. If you’ve been “on the fence” about joining, now is the time to decide. We want to give you all the details you need to make an informed decision and get in on the current price before it goes up. If you get in now, your membership fee will remain at the current price even after the price goes up. Continue reading

Internet Business Mastery Academy: Our Mid-Term Review

Classroom Back in July, we joined Internet Business Mastery Academy, and gave you a peek at what we got accomplished on Day 1 at The Academy. Since then, we’ve made some good progress toward starting our online businesses. Now we’re on Lesson 7 at the Academy and we’ve had plenty of time to dig in and find our way around, so we wanted to give you a more thorough review of what you’ll find there, what we like about it, and what we’re less than thrilled with.

Four WordPress Themes You Shouldn’t Miss

evaluation If you’ve been following along lately, you know that Scott and I are working on establishing our own internet businesses. We’ll both be starting new blogs as part of the business model, and this week we’ve been spending a lot of time looking for that perfect WordPress theme. In this post, we’ll show you our “short list” of themes we’re considering for our business blogs – and we’d love to hear opinions from any of you who have used any of these themes. We’re probably going to be making our final decision this week.

Internet Business Mastery Academy: Day 1

If you’ve been keeping up with the blog lately (you ARE keeping up, right?) then you know we were recently begging for an affiliate link from one of you so we could join Internet Business Mastery Academy. Well, MK was the first to jump on that opportunity. She gave us her affiliate link, and we officially joined the Academy on Monday, July 13th. Congrats to MK, who will now be making $33.95 every month off of our membership dues! Look for more opportunities like this in the future. We kinda’ like the idea of rewarding our readers, and this seems like a good way to do that.

A Free Viral Marketing Tool With A Mind-Blowing Twist (or Two)

We’ve got some really good Web Candy for you this weekend! As you know We’ve been diving head-first into the whole Affiliate Marketing and Pay-Per-Click  Advertising thingy recently. I’ve checked out more than a few E-books, “systems” and “programs” that have promised to rock my world, make me a millionaire, and do it all so quick it wouldWeb Candy leave my head spinning. Y’all don’t know me very well yet, but I’m not a very gullible person, and I’m not an “easy sell” when it comes to such hyped-up claims. I admit, my attention has been grabbed by a couple of product launch email campaigns and I’ve excitedly waited for the next “big thing” to launch, only to find out that it’s $900 or more. No thanks. But as I’ve been learning, I have invested in a few less costly (ok, just plain cheap) E-books and “systems” in an effort to “get up to speed” on how to be successful in affiliate marketing.

Of all the stuff I’ve read and studied, though, this one little E-book I came across keeps popping into my mind. Which is kind of weird, because it was free. Funny how you can get your hands on a free thing and let it collect dust for a week or two, while you throw your hard-earned money at other products and devour them instantly. I read this free E-book again this week and it finally “sunk in.” Then I abruptly proceeded to kick my own ass for skimming over it so quickly before. I gave the book to Scott and told him to drop what he was doing and read it. I really wanted to see if it had the same impact on him as it did on me. Well, I had a lot of fun watching Scott’s reactions as he read it. Especially when he got to the “rule-breaking” twists near the end. He laughed out loud. He shook his head in disbelief. He questioned his own sanity. Oh wait, we do that daily anyway. By the end of the book, Scott was literally insisting that we have to do this. Oh yes. I already did. And if you have any interest in affiliate marketing, making passive income, or creating a viral EBook, I’m guessing you’re going to have the same reaction. Why? Well, at the risk of sounding like a hyped-up affiliate marketing infomercial, this free eBook is really freakin’ genius.

Review: The Unconventional Guide to Working for Yourself

As a Quitter, I’m always on the lookout for resources, websites, books, podcasts and anything that will help me learn more about self-employment opportunities, work-from-home business options—anything that could lead to developing new sources of income and would result in being able to leave behind the work-a-day life I inherited as an American-born person. Some links lead to junk while others lead to gems. And recently, I found a very sparkly gem in the form of an ebook called, The Unconventional Guide for Working for Yourself (UGWY).

A Little World Domination Never Hurt Anyone

Before I tell you about The Unconventional Guide… written by Chris Guillebeau, I want to share with you the story of how I discovered it. Why? Because this is an example of someone who had a product to market and did everything right, which ultimately lead to a sale. If this isn’t proof that he knows how to work for himself, I don’t know what is.

Recently, my wife, Tammy, was reading the IttyBiz blog. IttyBiz is “a place to get tips, advice, motivation, and support for your very small business.” In a post that Tammy found on IttyBiz, Naomi Dunford said:

Once upon a time, maybe in November, my friend Chris Guillebeau wrote a post. Because it wasn’t appropriate for his blog (it’s way too short and it involves giving people the finger and that’s just not how he rolls at Art of Non-Conformity), he sent it to me.

(By the way, if you are one of the nine people on earth who have not read his ebook, you might want to pick it up. It’s called ‘The Unconventional Guide to Working for Yourself: Creating Personal Freedom through a Very Small Business’.)

That caught Tammy’s attention so she clicked on the link to the Art of Non-Conformity site. Aside from being impressed with the look and content of the site, she clicked a link that, again, caught her attention. Continue reading
